NWMO Supports Communities During COVID-19

The Municipality of South Bruce receives $25,000.00 from Nuclear Waste Management organization to assist South Bruce in our efforts to manage the COVID-19 situation.

The Nuclear Waste Management Organization are providing a one-time investments of $25,000 to assist with local responses to COVID-19. Other communities engaged in the site selection process for Canada’s plan for the safe, long-term management of used nuclear fuel will also be receiving this one time investment.

“This is a generous donation made by NWMO says, Mayor Buckle, as the municipality continues to review the needs of the community now and during the recovery phase of this health emergency the funding will certainly be helpful.”

The investment is intended to support South Bruce through the pandemic, in such areas as community well-being, health concerns, food insecurities and basic supplies that will help community members cope in these challenging times.

The Municipality is strongly encouraging residents to continue to practice social distancing and to self-isolate for the safety of everyone.
