Municipal Facilities Closed as Precautionary Measure - COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 UPDATE:
MUNICIPAL FACILITIES INCLUDING THE MUNICIPAL ADMINISTRATION OFFICE CLOSED
For the safety and well-being of staff, clients and the community at large, the Municipality of South Bruce will be closing facilities to the public beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020. The facilities listed below will be closed to the public until further notice. Closure status will be monitored and the public will be advised of any changes. Please note that operations will continue and staff can be reached by telephone or email during this time. We are committed to slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus while at the same time continuing to provide quality service to our residents.
The impacted municipal facilities that will be closed to the public:
• The Municipal Administration Office
• Teeswater Culross Community Centre
• Mildmay Carrick Community Recreation Complex
• Formosa Community Centre
• Teeswater Town Hall
• Public Works facilities
The Landfills will be closed until Saturday, March 21, 2020 to allow preventative measures to be put in place to protect staff and the public. Staff will be practicing social distancing at these sites and will be encouraged to not come into contact with the public.
The Building Department will continue to operate. We encourage everyone applying for a permit to email the permit or submit drawings and documents in a designated bin located in the front of the Municipal Office in Teeswater during regular business hours. Please contact the Chief Building Official by email or phone if you have any questions regarding how permits and inspections will be dealt with during this public closure period.
Taxes and other Municipal payments can be paid by mail, the drop box at the Municipal Office in Teeswater or Mac’s Milk in Mildmay, online and telephone banking. Payments will continue to be processed on a daily basis. Please contact the Treasury Department if you have concerns about how to make your payments during this time.
The Municipal Council and Committee meetings have been suspended until further notice.
The public is encouraged to follow the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit and stay up to date at www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca and to monitor the municipal website for further South Bruce updates at www.town.southbruce.on.ca.
The Municipality also recommends that the public follow the proper hygiene protocols outlined by the Provincial Medical Officer of Health: https://www.ontario.ca/page/2019-novel-coronavirus.
