Municipal Freedom of Information

The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) provides individuals with two rights:

  • to provide a right of access to information under the control of institutions
  • to protect the privacy of individuals with respect to personal information about themselves held by institutions and to provide individuals with a right of access to that information. 

Requests for Information

Many of the Municipality of South Bruce records are available without making a formal request for information. Many records can be found on this website, or are available by contacting the Municipal Office.

If a formal request is necessary, the first step is to fill out the Request Form. Be sure to include as many details and be as specific as possible about the information you would like to obtain.

Submit your request with the required $5.00 fee by mail or in person at the Municipal Office. Additional fees may be applicable (i.e. photocopies, computer printouts, manual search time).

Requests are generally processed within 30 days. The Municipality will notify you if a time extension is required.
