Municipality of South Bruce Receives $300,000 Investment in Community Well-Being

Updated

The Municipality of South Bruce will receive a $300,000 investment in 2018 to support community well-being as South Bruce continues to explore Canada’s plan for the long-term management of used nuclear fuel with the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO).

The investment, which is part of the NWMO Exploring Partnerships and Community Well-Being program, will support the community’s efforts to continue to advance learning, knowledge and understanding of Canada’s plan for managing used nuclear fuel and the associated site selection process. The funding will provide resources to support the Municipality through more detailed discussions regarding the site selection process and the potential for partnership with the NWMO.

The community investments complement existing NWMO Learn More resource programs. The NWMO is introducing the program of investments in communities that are currently involved in the site selection process, including South Bruce, Huron-Kinloss, Manitouwadge, Hornepayne and Ignace.
