We've been Spruced! The main street of Mildmay has received a welcomed new look with banners being installed after receiving a Streetscape Grant from the Spruce the Bruce Initiative Program. This project was spearheaded by The Mildmay Chamber! They received financial support from the South Bruce Tourism Committee and the South Bruce Community Business Association and installation was completed by The Municipality of South Bruce.
Story behind the design: Mildmay has a tool kit that was designed by the County of Bruce and our theme for Mildmay is Bavarian. When Mildmay Chamber's Spruce the Bruce Committee was designing the banners, they chose designs from the tool kit that best reflected the Bavarian theme. Bavaria is well known for their blue and white checker patterns and this specific font that was used. The logo for Mildmay represents our rural community.
A huge thank you goes out to The Mildmay Chamber for taking the initiative on this project and picking up the remaining financial balance after receiving financial assistance from the South Bruce Tourism Committee, South Bruce Community Business Association and the Spruce the Bruce Grant. Thank you also to Richard Burke from Extramile printing for your design advice on the banners and your quick service. The banners look fantastic!
Mildmay Chamber's Spruce the Bruce Committee members were: Nikk Wise, Carolyn Borth, Sherry Durrer, Joanne Ross, Leanne Martin and Rhonda Niesen.
Great job everyone for working collaboratively on this awesome project!
