Mildmay’s 36th Annual “ Hanging of the Green”!
“A Bavarian Christmas Market”
Friday November 30, 2018 - Lighted Christmas Parade @ 7:45pm
Let’s continue to grow our “Bavarian Christmas Market” theme this year and promote our German heritage at the 36th Annual “Hanging of the Green” Christmas Parade, November 30th, 2018!
Let’s make this a fantastic German themed festival (hint: Google “German Christmas Markets” for ideas)! The Committee is asking all organizations, businesses, as well as rural and urban families or individuals to come and join in the fun!
The street celebration kicks off at 5 p.m. with music, food and entertainment. The parade has become known throughout the region as one of the best attended and most entertaining. That’s where you come into the picture! We invite and encourage your company to enter a float. It is a great way to advertise your business!
The organizing committee would also appreciate your financial support as it allows the committee to expand and bring other musical groups to our parade. Mildmay is an exciting family community and your continued commitment, participation and contribution helps us to achieve a successful event. This year’s “Hanging of the Green” Celebration, which includes the “Lighted” Christmas Parade and arrival of Santa Claus will be taking place on Friday, November 30th, 2018.
The parade assembles at Connect Equipment, on Highway #9 North of Mildmay across from the lighted Rotary Park and continues up the main Street to Mildmay Freshmart. Please have your entry at the assembly area between 6:45 and 7:30 P.M. The parade starts at 7:45 P.M.
Parked and abandoned cars belonging to people involved in the parade can cause major traffic problems. Cars transporting float participants, please park your personal vehicles on the Elora Rd. behind & above Connect Equipment or in the parking lot adjacent to the road or in the parking lot of the Rotary Park . The Mildmay Firemen, who help organize the parade, would really appreciate your assistance in this matter. The “Hanging of the Green” volunteers are always seeking new ways and ideas to improve the Mildmay Celebration. Please feel free to pass your ideas on, as with any volunteer committee, we appreciate all the positive help we can get.
