The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will be holding an open house at the Teeswater-Culross Community Centre on August 2, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
The purpose of the open house will be to provide information on how the CNSC regulates the nuclear sector and explain early involvement in an initiative for a deep geological repository for the long-term management of used nuclear fuel.
CNSC staff will be at the open house to provide information about the CNSC, the licensing process, aboriginal consultation, independent research program on geological repositories and how the CNSC works internationally. CNSC will also speak about the transportation of nuclear substance, radiation protection and the public hearing process.
